The Gipsy Kings hold a special place in my heart…
When my husband and I were dating in college, he had to cat sit for a professor during one of our school breaks. I would join him at their empty house, we’d feed the cats, eat some dinner, and listen to their Gipsy Kings cd while quietly pretending that their living room was actually ours, that we were actually grown, and that we were married. It was such a sweet fantasy.
We’d stay there for a half hour or so, gazing at each other for…well, an inordinate amount of time (as one is apt to do when one is young and in love…with one’s first love).
Yes, ladies and gentleman, I married my first love and I’m happy I did. I’m happy I did, even with all the unseen bumps and bruises along the way. And I’d do it again.
(Just don’t tell him that; I like to keep him on his toes 😉
So here are our Gipsy Kings.
They were born in France, but they are the children/grandchildren of Spanish Gypsies who escaped persecution in Spain.
