So…..Saturday was not great.
It wasn’t awful, it was just not so great:
I think the majority of the day was fine, I mean it was Pi day after all.
(click here if you don’t know what Pi Day is)
But I think the reason why our day was a bit off was because we couldn’t get any PIE to celebrate Einstein’s birthday/Pi Day. And because of where we live, on a beautiful idyllic Ivy League campus (omg, it’s so lovely here; we just moved here so I’m quite in love) Pi Day is quite a big deal. Needless to say, it was super crowded with self-proclaimed nerds, complete with black rimmed, taped glasses; flooding through campus, through the downtown, stopping traffic with their tours, crowding out restaurants that had $3.14 specials all over town.
PLUS we didn’t get out of the house until the afternoon (we’ve all been sick, we’re still slightly sick, and going out in the cold was not something I was looking forward to, especially with two little ones). BUT hopes were high, and we all wanted some pie.
Out we went. Everything’s crowded (nerdy parades) it’s cold, and a bit wet and rainy, so we decide to not exit the Volvo. And my Dear Husband decides he needs a new cell phone, right now. His current phone had stopped working, would randomly shut off, wouldn’t keep a charge, and most importantly to him, he couldn’t take pictures. And he LOVES taking pictures: of random flowers, random fog, random bits of earth, random twigs, and us of course. He LOVES taking pictures. (On our honeymoon, I had to pull him aside and tell him to stop taking so many pictures, that I wanted to enjoy the sights with him and it was hard to do that with him glued to his camera. What did he do? He took a picture…one handed, of us having this little talk….)
Anyhoo, off to Best Buy we went. It was fine, if exhausting, but then they didn’t have the phone he wanted (I’ll feature it in a different post) in stock so we had to drive to the closest Best Buy, so me and the kids opted to stay in the car since it should only take 15 minutes (as quoted at the other Best Buy).
Well 15 minutes turned into over an hour. In the car. With two little ones.
Let’s just say my husband is making me breakfast-in-bed right now for a reason.
(if re-heating last night’s blintzes counts as “making” 😉
So we’re all pretty exhausted from yesterday. But I’m doing some homeschool prep for tomorrow and we’re going to watch Joel Osteen live online (its free, has awesome music, good messages) after my Dear Husband comes back from his run.
Then thrift store shopping??? or a nap 😉
No, we’re going to the library to return a few books, renew others, and get our new books for the week! Exciting. My eldest is very excited to play on the Ipad at the library. After that it’s weekly grocery shopping and right after I get off the computer I’m couponing to prep for the trip!
Click below to watch one of the Lakewood messages. We try to catch the live service whenever we can, but it’s over so feel free to enjoy one of the other messages.

This is the upcoming men’s conference in Houston, TX; looks fun.
My SnuggleBunny (aka my Husband) has been to a few Christian Men’s retreats and they sound awesome (laser tag, lots of good food, camping, bonding, praying, meditating.)
